Thanks for adding a beautiful page for Timmy, Steve! One of my most fun and fond pictorial memories is of Kennealy and Timmy shaving by flashlight in the girl's bathroom before we opened for Open Mike night right after Christmas last year... do you still have those pics? It was hysterical watching them try to shave. Thanks also to everyone who called or came by mom's visitation. It meant a lot to have my friends rallying around me. Mom always knew where I'd be when I said I was going to "the pub" and she knew how much my friends there meant to me. Thanks again, Laur

It's still hard to believe Tim is gone. I've made a tribute page with pictures of him in happier times. There are links on the home page and the album page. More to come as I recover from a sick PC.

tim, i don't even know where to start. i have been crying for the last three weeks and my eyeballs have literaly dried up. i hope that you have finally found your peace..no more stomach pain, no more panic attacks, no more bill collectors, just peace. i'm sure cheyenne, maggie,& spooks will be sad at first, but you needed to be in a more peaceful place and they just couldn't go with you...nor could the rest of us. i still wear the ring you gave me and listen to "thunder road" full blast...but then again you already knew that didn't ya Kid. oh by the way "wanna get married?" love you tim, kate

Dear Tim: I know you can feel all the love our amazing friends are pouring out to you. We can feel you everywhere. Lizzie and I were enlightened last night when we realized that God just needed you more. Then, we figured it out. Your up there in heaven managing the dog pound, aren't you. Patrick Oldani says you are riding around in your cadillac picking up the strays in heaven. How happy you must be and what a wonderful visual for us. We love you! Carol P.S. The last couple of times I saw Tim, he kept telling me about a song he had written; I think he called it "West County Girls." It was supposedly a humorous ditty which detailed the myriad of differences between West County, South County, and North County girls. After writing the song, he decided it would make a perfect John Dear song and he wanted me to have it. Unfortunately, he never got the chance to pass it on to me. If anyone out there has a recording or lyrics or chords or they heard him play it and could describe it, please contact me. Otherwise, I will have to try to fulfill Tim's vision on my own.

I didn't get to know Tim the way all of you did, but he will still be missed in my heart. For I didn't have the opportunity to get to know him as all of you knew him. Meeting him the few times that I did, and attending his funeral showed me just how much he really meant to all of you. I'm sure Tim is sitting up in Heaven with Jack Buck watch the Cardinals right now. We'll miss you much Tim!!!

My mother passed away this morning at 6AM. I really wish I could be at Tim's funeral, but my first priority has to be my father's wellfare. Please pass my love to Tim's family. Details on the services for Timmy.... they begin at 7pm on monday for the visitation, after that we plan to go to a club where tim and jack shannon startrd out playing. we'll reminisce and memorialize our friend. Sort of our own goodbye party/celebration of his life. directions are: to take 44 south past rolla a ways and it's about 1/2 hour before springfield. take the marshfield exit, top of the ramp and go left, best thing to do is pull over anywhere in town (marshfield) and ask for the Fraker's funeral home (the only one in marchfield apparently, so everybody will know how to get you there) i know it is on hwy A. shouldn't be hard to find, marshfield is a very small town... those of you who wish to stay til tuesday, we can get hotel rooms and share.. we'll work it out. feel free to bring anything that reminds you of tim or that you would like to send long with him... no whiskey please. We'll of course be playing bruce springsteen and jack shannon scott will be there and hopefull play and sing at the funeral, or sometime... we hope. timmy would want that. you can reach me on the cell phone..314-412-0249 or robbie at or email me. we'll be leaving around 2. we love you and thank you for the outpouring of love... hope he is watching all this. tank you again, if you can't make it please keep his family and dear friends in your prayers and thoughts... this is just devastating to us. Love to you all, love to timmy, he can feel it, i know. and please, learn something here. None of us are invincible. be careful, luvs. And i'm writing a book of sorts... anything you may have to add, please email ne privately. Lizzie ( again)

I personally would like to thank the patrons and of course, also, my cohort behind the bar as well as my business partner, Michele. The last couple of months were tough all over and as hard as we all worked together, unfortunately, it was not possible to stay open. I miss seeing everyone on a regular basis, but it's a happy reunion when we all show up at the same shows. A small group of us have been going to Kareoke at Lafayette Pub (Park @ 18th) on wednesdays... it's been an oportunity for those of us who normally were the audience to have our chance at the "open mike." Join us some wednesday! I want to thank Robbie and Steve for showing 'chele and me how to make the drinks that we didn't know how to make before and for trusting us with the bar as often as they did towards the end. Now if I could only find another bartending job that would be nearly as fun with the incredible patrons we had... I hope to see you all on September 6th (the day after my b-day!) at Off Broadway to support Gustave's Six Comforts Benefit show. Maxtone Four (Kennealy's regular and regular performer, Brian McClelland's band), Colony, and Drew Johnson Band. Come out and buy a broke b-day girl a beer. I hope everyone has enjoyed the pictures. I finally gave Steve "SpinyNorman" Ruhl all of the pics I had taken at the pub, so they're all up now. It's hard to say goodbye, so don't... keep supporting the local musicians that you saw at Kennealys (show info on a couple can be found on the GGB site as well...shameless self-promotion). Love and Good Karma, Laur

Richie, Thanks for your comments and for showing some real class with your follow up.

Everyone, I don't want this to become a finger pointing forum. It is much better used as a forum to keep in touch with everyone and spread the word about good bars to visit or good bands to see. If the Guest Book turns nasty again, it's going to disappear.

If you haven't noticed the Calendar page has morphed into a "Where Are They Now" page. I'm going to try and let everyone know where they can see the artists they used to see at Kennealy's. Feel free to e-mail the K's Webmaster link to let me know about anything I miss.

Watch the site for more pics as I get time and also scans of posters and flyers from the happier days of the pub. I swiped quite a few (always after the show) and I've got some really good ones from John Dear.

Finally, there has been a lot of well deserved thanks to various people but there has been one big omission. Thanks, Wendy, for all the work you put into trying to keep the pub alive and for giving me the opportunity to create this site.

P.S. Richie, slip the security guards a six-pack and they'll let you dive in the sewage ponds to your hearts content ;-)

Too bad that the pub ended like it did!!Ended because of money or lack thereof? Too bad,at the end of the day,the pub was about friendship and a place where the music men(and women) could express themselves emotionally, with out all the bullsh#t that comes with the music industry, without shameless promotion!! It was truely about the music, guess I will have to go back to listening to CREED!!(those guys ROCK,and the lead singer is soooooo cute) I think you guys should turn the pub into a church,Saint steve could be the pastor!!you could call it--first episcopal church of the outstretched palm, the church's dogma could be ass follows----money is the root of all evil!!!purge yourself of evil greed, and send your money!!yea, thats it,purge yorself!!!We could take the money and buy pizza pans, and instead of communion,we could spank eachothers ass's with the pizza pans.(or snow shovel's with holes drilled approx.1 inch apart for aerodynamic flow) Ok,seriously,I miss everyone!!!!But not Jack Shannon Scott!!!One time at the pub, during a late night party, that fuc%er told me he would not shoot his man goo in my mouth,he did it anyway!!JERK!!!! Thanx to everyone who put forth the effort and hard work,so I could have great memories!!!To bad you guys can't get along!!--um,like Steve K.,you forgot to thank Jack and Liz for their HARD WORK!!! Have to go now,I am going scuba diving in the St.Charles sewage treatment pond,if I can get past the security guards!!! Cheers!!! RICHARD

Nice web site Steve. This is Steve Kennealy logging in for the first and last time. I'm glad everyone loved the pub. So did I! We will be opening under the same name and venue hopefully within six to twelve months. I'm sorry after reading some of the E-Mails that people think I'm evil. If you would like to talk about it you can meet the Devil (me) at the childrens hospital on Wednesday where I volunteer, or at St. Peter and Paul at the shelter on the weekend where I help out. I know who my friends are and most important who I am. The fact that I am even responding to some of the nonsense gives me reservations. I do so only because of the overwhelming satisfaction I have by saying this. I'd like to thank Tim, Rob, Dave, His Chick ( joke carol ), Steve Ruhl, Devon, Richie, Alex, Thad, and probably 10 or 20 others. Next week's events @ Kennealy's have been sent in to the RFT Entertaiment/Nightclub listings, so hopefully that will help out Beatle Bob and many others. Thanks to all of you for the many, many, MANY nights of fun at Kennealy's! It's the "family" at Kennealy's that makes it so great.

Hey gang, I kept thinking you guys were out of business. Called your phone # from the white pages, even called information for your #, but was told none existed. I almost gave up until I noticed on Supercrushes email to me that they would be playing your establishment and left your website for more info. So how about an operational phone # and some listings in the RFT and Get Out Magazine? Beatle Bob.

kennealy's benefit on dec first...was a big success---thanks again to all who played, devoted their time, food and love...we raised $1800 (not bad considering how much booze was complimentary) we were able to pay off a couple of major bills, so thank you very much...and with the grace of God, things will keep going forward. getting out of such a heavy debt is very difficult and will take months of steady recovery and hard work on my part. yet,it was a giant aid to us and i'm indebted to you all...rock and roll........jack shannon scott

Hey Da-Da The pub looks beautiful and the pictures of you do too and the poem is too. It may not in about two weeks when Jack Rowan gets there. Everybody: please whenever Jack is there, don't contaminate his purity too much i.e. I'd rather him not come back with shot glasses as sovenier's this time! And no cursing. - polly

I find Kennealy's Pub a comfortable place to enjoy some local music, but I have an Irish prayer for you--"Lord please give Kenneally's the strength to charge a reasonable price for a beer, because St Patrick would be offended paying $4.25 for a Guiness or a Harp and quickly broke." Thank You.

The perfect size pub
Kennealy's pub is the perfect venue for someone who wants to sit and enjoy a drink. The dark wooden floors coupled with the dim lighting make for a friendly, warm atmosphere to enjoy a conversation over a drink, or some high quality local musical talent. The bartenders are not only fast, but very friendly and know how to properly mix a drink and pour Guinness. This is the perfect bar. (anonymous comment on CitySearch 4/28/2001)
